Jörg Haider, Unfall, Mord oder Attentat
The German language book Jörg Haider, Unfall, Mord oder Attentat from the German journalist Gerhard Wisnewski looks behind the scenes of the death of the Austrian politician Jörg Haider. Very interesting reading for less than 20 Euros.

Anklage wegen Mordes gegen George W. Bush

The German language book Anklage wegen Mordes gegen Geoge W. Bush from Vincent Bugliosi shows how George W. Bush is responsible for the death of more than 4000 american soldiers and more than 100 000 people from Iraq. When an American president got into trouble for having an affair, what should happen to a president, who is responsible for the deaths of so many people?

Freedom Not Fear 2008

On 10/11 we call for an international action day called Freedom Not Fear 2008 in as many European capital cities as possible and elsewhere around the world to demonstrate against the total retention of telecommunication data and other instruments of surveillance. We would like to recall the remembrance of the historical achievement of civil rights and liberties as a heritage of the Age of Enlightenment and to support the trust in security in our free society.

free range kids

From BoingBoing, a directory of wonderful things, something truly wonderful: Free Range Kids is a blog for raising kids without being freaked out about safety all the time. After all these nonsense years, this might be the start of a revolution. Maybe there is still for this planet to survive?

the Microsoftification of Apple?

Just found this at http://www.hackint0sh.org: Stocks & Weather apps send your IMEI (and more?) to Apple. Just sad. Hopefully the upcoming mobile phones with the Google/LinuxOS will arrive ASAP.
Update: Heise Online says it has confirmed that the information sent is not the IMEI, but rather just an identifier for the application.

Permitted and prohibited item for air travel in the USA

The TSA has a website, where they list permitted and prohibited item for air travel in the USA. Weird, that security has become a bad word, too. Just like convenience. If you hear, that something happens for your convenience, you can be sure, it will be bad for you. And security has become an Orwellian doublespeak word for privacy intrusion.

Germany says goodbye to KisMAC

Germany says goodbye to KisMAC. With the introduction of §202c German politicians proved their complete incompetence. Law in Germany: possession of child pornography - two years imprisonment. Distribution of security software is half as bad. Even worse politicians still believe in the successful ban of digital information, obviously not reckoning globalization.
KisMAC will live on. Different people. Different country. Same "threat" to national security.
