Kensington Vo200 Bluetooth internet phone

Kensington Vo200 Bluetooth internet phone
The Kensington Vo200 is a credit card sized Bluetooth internet phone, that can be recharged in any standard PCcard slot. Cost is less than 80 Euros. Officially only compatible with Windows, but I managed to recharge it in a PowerBook G4 PCcard slot and pair it under MacOSX 10.4.10 without any troubles. Shows up as a standard audio input and output device.

Apple iPhone starts selling on 6/29

Apple iPhone starts selling on 6/29
On 6/29 at 6pm Apple and AT&T start selling the Apple iPhone. If you want to see, how web browsing on a 320*480 pixel display looks like (same as the Newton 2100 about 10 years ago!) then take a look at iPhoney, an iPhone websimulator for designers for MacOSX. IMHO anything less than VGA resolution is just not enough for web browsing, even on mobile phones. 640*480 VGA and the upcoming 800*480 WVGA resolutions on Nokia770 and N800 web tablets and the Toshiba Protege900 are just so much better for viewing web pages without having to scroll constantly in all directions, that I just don´t want to downgrade again. P.S.: eBooks (offline Wikipedia!) and email looks so much better with more pixels to show the information!

Apple announces high definition MacBook Pro

Apple announces high definition MacBook Pro
Yesterday Apple finally announced their first notebook PC with an optional WUXGA display, the new MacBook Pro with high res screen built-to-order (BTO) for an additional 100$, which shows 1920*1200 pixels on its 17" display. Unfortunately 15" Mac notebook users still have to rely on DIY methods to see 1920*1200 pixels on their displays. BTW: the new MacBook Pros support 4GB RAM (too expensive at Apple!) and Apple is ready to ship the new optional 250GB hard drives, for a reasonable price, too.
