SonyEricsson unveils XPERIA X1

One day before the opening of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Sony Ericsson introduced the XPERIA X1, a Windows Mobile phone with WVGA screen, slide out keyboard, HSUPA, 3 Megapixel camera with light, Bluetooth, WLAN, FM radio and a microSD slot. Available in the second half of 2008.

finally received my Toshiba Portege G900

Introduced at 3GSM last February in Barcelona, and supposed to ship in summer 2007, I just received my Toshiba Portege G900 . And believe it or not: it looks even better in reality than on the already impressive spec sheet. The 800*480 screen is just gorgeous. 2.5 times as many pixels as on the iPhone! Even though Windows Mobile is a little rough compared to OSX on the iPhone, the hardware specs make this device really usable as a portable computer. Hopefully Toshiba will use the upcoming Android OS from Google ASAP for this device or its sucessors (910, 920).

Wikipedia in MobiPocket format

At WPMP you can find MobiPocket versions of the Wikipedia in English, German and some other languages. The German snapshot is dated August 2007 and sized 1.3GB, so there should be 645877 articles in it. The MobiPocket ebook reader is available for PalmOS, PocketPC, Symbian60, UIQ, Blackberry and some older platforms, but not for Symbian Series 40, Nokia770/N800 and iPhone/iTouch.
