Bartering makes a comeback

Bartering makes a comeback
Another good trend initiated through the so called "financial crisis", at least according to consumerist.com:Bartering makes a comeback. BTW: Barter in the US is taxable! If you barter for goods and/or services, you are taxed not more or less than if it were a cash transaction. In other words, it is handled the same way as a cash transaction regarding taxation. If you bartered for a profit, you pay the appropriate tax, if you generated a loss in the transaction, you have a loss. Other countries do not have the reporting requirement that the U.S. does concerning proceeds from barter transactions.

Crop multiple pages in Preview on MacOSX

Crop multiple pages in Preview on MacOSX
One of the best tips, I have ever seen on Macworld.com: Crop multiple pages in OS X 10.5’s Preview. Works in MacOSX 10.4, too! Now I can finally get rid of all the useless white borders in PDF documents, that make the PDF page unnecessarily big and forces you to scroll on most tiny screen more often. BTW: as ScottBayes mentioned: It may be worthwhile to select the Reduce File Size setting under Quartz Filter in the Save As... dialog to reduce the file size, too.
