Pioneer PDP 5000 EX display 1080i signal from computer

Pioneer PDP 5000 EX display 1080i signal from computer
Yesterday I took my 15" PowerBook and some cables (VGA, DVI and HDMI), went to the nearest Media Markt, a huge electronics retailer and tried to connect to some high definition (1080) TVs. To make a long story very short. Of all the exhibited LCD and Plasma displays, only the Pioneer PDP 5000 EX was able to display 1920*1080 directly via DVI2HDMI cable without any scaling, cropping or other visual errors. Even TVs costing nearly 20000 Euros did not accept the 1920*1080i signal from my PowerBook. Any experiences with other displays?
