Startly Technologies Docktopus
Docktopus from Startly Technologies is a Mac OS X dock enhancement that gives you instant access to useful information and powerful new commands through your dock icons. Similar to the way Apple Mail uses a badge to display the number of unread messages from its dock icon, Docktopus allows you to overlay custom badges on your dock icons. An application's CPU and memory usage, a folder's contents, new messages waiting in a specific mail account and available disk space are just a few examples of the kinds of data Docktopus badges can display. All of this information is updated in real-time and because it is part of your Dock it is always available at a glance.

Toshiba Libretto U100
The Toshiba Libretto U100 is an ultra portable PC with keyboard about the size of an VHS cassette, that includes a 7" LCD with1280*768 pixels. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately the rest of the design is far from perfect, but if you imagine the screen part of the Libretto U100 without the bulky rest, including a touchscreen and all the necessary electronics and battery behind the screen, then you know, how a portable PC will look like in the future. Big enough to show 720p video and full pages, and small enough to put it in your jacket.

Samsung VP-X105L arrived
Just received a Samsung VP-X105Lfor testing purposes. It is a very small MPEG4 camcorder and a SVGA still video camera with 10 times optical zoom and LED flash, MP3 player and voice recorder. The 105 model includes 512MB flash memory, whereas the 110 model has 1GB. Connects via USB2 to PCs and Macs and even includes a ruggedized external small camera, that seems to be practical for filming during snowboarding or skiing. Expansion unfortunately only with MemorySticks, but I heard rumors that the next model will feature SD/MMC expansion, too.

ElGato EyeHome 1.6 incompatible with MacOS X 10.4.3
ElGato has confirmed, that their EyeHome media player 1.6 is currently not compatible with MacOSX 10.4.3. The newest MacOS X breaks the EyeHome application version 1.6 necessary to stream content to the Elgato EyeHome device. The application unexpectedly quits within seconds of being activated from the system preference pane. No word on a fix, yet. So if you use an EyeHome you should not update to 10.4.3 right now.
P.S.: I just heard, that the older version called EyeHome 1.52 runs fine with MacOS X 10.4.3 and is recommended, until a fix is supplied.
From their FAQ :
It seems that EyeHome 1.5.2 still should work fine.
Eye Home 1.52 download
Erase the EyeHome.prefPane associated with 1.6, in /Library/PreferencePanes, and then install 1.5.2.
EyeHome 1.5.2 is not a perfect solution - there may be problems with EyeTV content, and with aliases, that were fixed by 1.6. To work around EyeTV content issues, export recordings as MPEG Program Stream, and place in Movies folder, for playback in EyeHome.
Or, place your most desired EyeTV recordings into an EyeTV Archive folder, in the default location - the Library folder in your Home directory.
We are continuing to work with Apple on a resolution.
