bicycle camera mount

Great idea: the Bicycam. When Jens Almström opened his bike's bell and examined it, he realized that the screw that held the upper half in place had the same dimensions as the tripod's screw for his camera. Now his bicycle bell doubles as a simple camera mount.

JVC Everio GZ-MG21
Just received a JVC Everio GZ-MG21, a camcorder with 20GB hard drive, an optical 32 times zoom and a SD slot. Still video resolution is only VGA (640*480), but due to the optical 32 times zoom even small details far away are no problem to be taken full format.Labels: camcorder

cheap Apple iPod AV cable replacement
The Apple iPod AV Cable costs 19$, but if you have a generic AV cable lying around (e.g. from a camcorder) you can use it as well, but you have to swap the yellow and red connectors.

Samsung VP-X105L arrived
Just received a Samsung VP-X105Lfor testing purposes. It is a very small MPEG4 camcorder and a SVGA still video camera with 10 times optical zoom and LED flash, MP3 player and voice recorder. The 105 model includes 512MB flash memory, whereas the 110 model has 1GB. Connects via USB2 to PCs and Macs and even includes a ruggedized external small camera, that seems to be practical for filming during snowboarding or skiing. Expansion unfortunately only with MemorySticks, but I heard rumors that the next model will feature SD/MMC expansion, too.Labels: camcorder

JVC Everio G series
JVC launched the Everio G series camcorder with embedded hard disk (20 or 30GB). MPEG2 video recording, SD slot, still video only VGA resolution, but 25 times zoom! There are models with a megapixel sensor and 1152*864 still video, but only 15 times zoom. I guess they will bring a pro version with 3 CCDs pretty soon, hopefully with better still video resolution, too. BTW: official Mac support!

my mobile office in the coming months
Treo650 and MDA4, possibly the Nokia N91 as an wireless "modem" for a nice tablet from Apple.
Nokia770. First I thought about getting myself a Samsung Nexio XP40 or at least a XP30, but I guess they won't be available anytime anywhere...
Sanyo SD camcorder/camera, eventually the Pentax Optio MX4 for the 10 times zoom compared to only six times on the Sanyo.
