Amazing concept: Dorling Kindersley sells Das grosse visuelle Woerterbuch including English, French, German, Spanish and Italian, all for less than 15 Euros.
Austrian mobile phone provider Mobilkom sells the Samsung Galaxy Tab, starting at less than 200 Euros. Could be the first reasonable Newton sucessor.
The Samsung Omnia 7 is the first Samsung mobile phone that uses the Windows Mobile 7 OS. Remarkably easy to use. So much better than Windows Mobile up to version 6.5. There is some connectivity software for MacOSX, too.

Finally back in San Francicso. As always staying at the Green Tortoise hostel. They offer free meals on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, free (and good!) breakfast every day, WLAN in the whole house and Linux based Internet PCs. This all with a cosy atmosphere and people from all over the world and a great location just between Chinatown and North Beach. Highly recommended!
