no postings until April 10th

Due to technical difficulties between Flickr.com and blogger.com there will be no postings until April the 10th 2007. Hopefully flickr.com and blogger.com will sort out their incompatibilities until then.

Update 04/16: there were no incompatibilities between blogger and flickr. The problem was, that flickr did not accept image uploads via email for some time. These problems should be fixed, now. Hopefully!

using Google Gmail to reduce spam?

using Google Gmail to reduce spam?
I am thinking about trying out Gmail to reduce the amount of spam, that I have to remove manually. I will just forward all my emails from my regular account to a test account at Gmail and see, if the Google spam filters are really able to significantly reduce the amount spam, as so many people are saying.

The drives can simply be inserted into the silicon frames, where they are securely protected against shocks and vibrations and are easier to handle. Does not support MacOSX right now, according to the website. I will try to test one with MacOSX ASAP.

Kleines Handbuch des Verhörens in German

Kleines Handbuch des Verhörens in German
There is a new German language book from Kunstmann Verlag called Der weiße Neger Wumbaba kehrt zurück, Kleines Handbuch des Verhörens 2. It talks about the many possibilities to phonetically misunderstand common phrases in a funny way. Highly recommended reading, but only if you are really fluent in German. BTW: there are even some English language examples included: the Iron Butterfly record "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" was a misunderstanding and should have been called originally "In the Garden of Eden".
