no announcement from Apple

Last quarter the CFO of Apple Peter Oppenheimer said about the coming quarter (ending 9/30): "We have got a future product transition that I can't discuss with you today, a transition, that would also reduce total gross margins". To quote further: "Fourth-quarter gross margins will be negatively impacted". September and the quarter are over, but no news from Apple. Weird!
