only Epson printers allowed to directly print on CDs in the US

I just heard, that due to patent issues, that only Epson printers are allowed to directly print on CDs in the US. So if you are located in the US and want to print to your CDs without buying an Epson printer, just import one from Europe or Asia, where nearly all major manufacturers sell printer models with Direct2CD printing capability.
