Great food in Chamonix

Chamonix If you ever come to Chamonix at the foot of the Mont Blanc, Europe's highest mountain, and enjoy great food, then visit "L'Imprévu", a restaurant at the beginning of the pedestrian zone across the BP gas station just beside a little bookstore. They even have a menu for less than 15 Euros that includes half a dozen escargots as a starter. For the main course I tried the fish with mushrooms, honey and figues. All the desserts include real whipped cream with powder sugar. Highly recommended!

P.S.: in the SuperU supermarket in Chamonix they sell unopened fresh oysters, so don't forget your oyster opening knife, but I guess everybody who visits France has such absolute essentials around.
