LG Electronics G3 D858 32GB white

The LG Electronics G3 D858 32GB white is a mobile phone with 2560*1440 pixel screen with more than 500dpi, IR remote and FM radio, all for less than 550 Euros. Includes the necessary SDXC microSD slot for expansion, too. The higher cost compared to the D855 model comes because of the second SIM slot, but no LTE 800 (band 20). Very convenient, but unfortunately not available in all markets.

Thomas Bernhard Am Ziel

On 3/22 there was a performance of Am Ziel by Thomas Bernhard at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, Austria. Basically a (near) monologue of more than two and a half hours by Andrea Jonasson. It ends and you think: so soon? In some aspects more shocking than the worst slasher horror movies. Great theatre! Photo copyright Sepp Gallauer.

Apple media event

On 3/9 Apple is hosting a media event at the Yerba Buena center for the arts in San Francisco, California, USA. Update: Apple introduced the new MacBook, an 12" notebook with 2304*1440 retina display, 8GB RAM, 256 or 512GB SSD, Intel Core M CPU without fan (silent!), 480p FaceTime camera, 3.5mm audio port and a sole USB Type-C port for charging power, data (USB 3.1 Gen 1 up to 5 Gbps) and video (native DisplayPort 1.2 video output). There are no adapters for various legacy ports included. Apple is selling adapters for USB Type-A (20$) and USB Type-A and C plus HDMI or VGA (79$) for ridiculous prices, but you will soon be able to buy various docks and adapters for much less from third party suppliers, as USB Type-C is an industry standard, that is also used by the new Google Chromebook. Availability starts 4/10 for 1500 and 1800€. Update 2: Apple states, that the new MacBook supports 4k video output at 3840*2160, although no information is given through which interfaces and at how many hertz.
